The Chichester Wellbeing team is launching a new programme of ‘Move it and Lose it’ workshops to help residents lose weight, get fit, and lead a healthier lifestyle in the new year.
The workshops are led by a Registered Nutritional Therapist and are designed to help people lose weight, and feel healthier. The workshops involve giving advice and information on eating a healthy diet for life and taking a detailed look at people’s eating habits and lifestyles.
The workshops start on the following dates:
- Tuesday 8 January from 6.30 – 7.30pm at Westgate Leisure Chichester;
- Wednesday 9 January from 10 – 11am at Westgate Leisure Chichester;
- Thursday 10 January from 9.30 – 11am at The Grange, Midhurst;
- Thursday, 10 January from 12.15 – 1.45pm at The Selsey Centre.
The whole 13-week course costs £30 and includes a free taster session and access to the First Steps to Fitness Scheme. Workshops in Selsey and Midhurst include a 45 minute exercise class for all abilities.
“The New Year is typically a time when we decide to make lifestyle changes to improve our health and wellbeing,” says Councillor Eileen Lintill, Cabinet Member for Community Services at Chichester District Council. “Our Move it and Lose workshops focus on healthy eating, nutrition, exercise and education to help people lose weight and lead healthier lifestyles.
“Lots of people who have completed the course say that the workshops improved their confidence and they found the group leader motivational. They also enjoyed meeting new people and felt a great sense of camaraderie within the group.”
