Police want doorbell and dashcam footage after four West Moors break-ins between 30 September and 11 October. A safe and £10,000 of Pokémon cards were taken.
Police are asking West Moors residents to check their doorbell cameras after a run of burglaries at homes whose owners were away.
Dorset Police says homes in the area were broken into between Wednesday 30 September and Sunday 11 October. Jewellery, cash and “high-value Pokémon cards” were among the things taken. The force is still working out whether the break-ins are linked.
The four reports
The force lists these, all in the Oakhurst Road and Pinehurst Road area:
- Oakhurst Road area, overnight on Sunday 4 October: entry through the back door. Nothing was stolen.
- Pinehurst Road, Tuesday 6 October, between 4am and 7.37pm: jewellery stolen.
- Pinehurst Road, reported Saturday 10 October: a break-in at some point from 3 to 10 October. Jewellery, watches and cash stolen.
- Pinehurst Road area, reported Sunday 11 October: a break-in at some point from 30 September to 11 October. A safe was taken, with a purse, cash and Pokémon cards the force values at about £10,000.
The stolen cards
Police have released pictures of nine of the cards. They are graded cards sealed in clear plastic cases, and most are Charizard cards from a 2016 Japanese 20th anniversary set.
Police Constable Anya Parvin, of Dorset CID, said she wanted to hear “from anyone who may have been offered them or seen them for sale”.
