An 18-year-old driver died after a crash on the A352 Wareham Road at 11.50pm on Sunday 11 October. Dorset Police want witnesses and dashcam footage.

An 18-year-old man has died after a crash on the A352 Wareham Road late on Sunday night. Dorset Police is asking witnesses and drivers with dashcams to come forward.

The collision happened at around 11.50pm on Sunday 11 October and involved a red Citroen C1. The driver of the Citroen, the 18-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been told.

The details come from a Dorset Police witness appeal. The force describes the crash as being in Wareham. Its statement does not say whether any other vehicle was involved, or exactly where on the A352 it happened.

Roads were closed so the emergency services could reach the crash and the scene could be examined.

Sergeant Leanne Howes, of the force’s Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died in this incident.”

She said officers were carrying out “a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened”. She asked any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to get in touch, and any motorists with dashcams who were nearby at the time “to please check their footage”.
